Obituary Gregory “Greg” Dale Goodrich passed on to heaven on November 16, 2021, in Sacramento, California. Greg was born on May 25, 1956, in San Pablo, California. He was the second born child to Arthur and Juanita Goodrich. Greg was raised in Richmond and graduated from Harry Ellis High School. He moved to Fairfield, California shortly after marrying the love of his life, Doris Goodrich in 1978. Greg and Doris would raise four boys together. Their family would grow to include 11 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Greg worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic at Embassy Leasing Co., before moving on to an Automotive Technician at Woodard Chevrolet. He then went to work as a Transit Vehicle Mechanic at BART. He retired from BART as an instructor for new mechanics in December 2016. He received numerous achievements, awards, and acknowledgements in his work career, including reaching ASE Certified Master Technician. Away from work, Greg was often found in the driveway fixing people’s cars, or at the homes of family and friends, putting his many skills to work helping others. One of Greg’s greatest joys in life was spending time with his family. Family was very important to him and an integral part of his daily life. Greg was an avid sports fan and loved the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, boating, and camping with his kids and grandkids. He was a 49ers fan and enjoyed going to both San Francisco Giants and Oakland A’s baseball games with family. Over the years he coached little league and was involved in Boy Scouts and Royal Ambassadors. He enjoyed bowling, singing, and playing softball. He had a hearty sense of humor and enjoyed joking with family and friends. Greg was a devout Christian and dedicated his life to the work of God. He was ordained during his service at Grace Baptist Church in Suisun City. He served as a Deacon, teacher, mentor, and interim Pastor. He also enjoyed singing in the church choir and sang in a traveling Christian barbershop quartet. Greg’s dedication to God could be seen in the way he lived his life and treated others. He was a father figure, brother in Christ and great friend to so many people over the years. He will be missed by many whose lives he had a positive impact on. Greg was proceeded in death by his mother and father, Juanita and Arthur Goodrich, his son Jimmy Jimerson, and daughter in law Shannon Jimerson. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Doris; siblings Pam Maestas (Donald), Roger Goodrich, Monica Goodrich; children Joseph Jimerson, Matthew Goodrich (Melissa), and Adam Goodrich (Kristina), grandchildren; Crystal (Israel), Zachary (Briana), Isaac, Kathryn, Samantha, Marie, Elijah, Alexis, Eddie, Jaxon, and Olivia, and great grandchildren; Loralai, Leila, Arabella, and Lucius. His family will miss him more than words can express! A viewing will be held on December 1, 2021, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m at Fairfield Funeral Home, 1750 Pennsylvania Ave, Fairfield. A limited seating funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on December 2, 2021, at the Rockville Stone Chapel, followed by a graveside burial at Rockville Cemetery, 4219 Suisun Valley Road, Fairfield. The burial will be followed by a reception and celebration of life at the Rockville Cemetery reception hall.
