Paul Sylvanus Boyce III

Paul Sylvanus Boyce III, was born on November 6, 1965 in Milwaukee, WI. He attended Milwaukee Technical High School and graduated in 1984. During high school he was a member of the ROTC for two years. Upon graduation he joined the United States Navy where he stayed for 4 years. After a year break, he joined the US Coast Guard and was stationed at Great Lakes Naval Base in Wisconsin as well as, multiple bases in Hawaii and California. Throughout his military career he went on multiple deployments and sailed out in the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans. His deployments took him to parts of the world some people go a lifetime without seeing, mainly in the South America region. He was a crew member on many ships and was an honrable “Plankowner” for the USCGC Jarvis, USCGC Kittiwake, USCGC Bertholf and USCGC Waesche. He excelled in his role as a cook and his natural born leadership skills contributed to him climbing up in the ranks. In 2012, he retired from the United States Coast Guard after 26 total years of military service and achieving the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer (E-8). Married Lilia Estrella Tellez, in 1991, and taking a role of Step Dad to Michelle Martinez. They had their first daughter together, Cassandra Boyce, in 1991 and second child, Alexander Boyce, in 1995. During his military service, him and his family relocated to Fairfield, CA where they settled down, buying their first home. After retiring from the military, he took 2 years off and dabbled in storage locker auctioning. Finding forgotten treasures and selling them at flea markets, garage sales and around town. Over 2 years off from the military, he decided to go back into the workforce. He began working in food service at Travis Air Force Base as a cook in the mess hall, continuing what he loved to do throughout his military career. He retired, for a second time, as a civilian working out of TAFB for another 13 years. Paul enjoyed spending time with his family, music, comedy, movies, DIY projects, the outdoors, fishing, golf, bowling and embracing his second amendment. He was an avid collector of coins and watches. He attended multiple concerts and comedy shows. He was a dog lover at heart having up to 5 dogs in and out of the house over the years. Survived by his wife Lilia Boyce of 35 years, children Michelle Tellez Martinez, Cassandra Estrella (Boyce) Lashway; Alexander Sylvanus Boyce, mother Judy Marie Boyce, brother-in-law Michael Bullock, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and dogs, Chico and Jada. Predeceased in death by his father Paul S Boyce Jr. and younger sister Adriane Noel (Boyce) Bullock and dogs, Taco, BiBi and Pepe. In respects to the family, there will be a private funeral service at Sacramento Valley National Cemetery where he will be honored for his military service. Following the service, his life will be celebrated at Rancho Solano Golf Course.
